核武進化威力強大 現代核戰恐成世界末日
有時候人禍比天災更可怕，特別是爆發戰爭。目前擁有核武的美國和俄羅斯等國家都有能力製造出威力更強大的核彈、數量也比過去更多，假如真的爆發核戰人類將死傷慘重，請看TVBS和歷史頻道獨家合作的報導。
摩天大樓瞬間被夷為平地，屹立百年的古羅馬競技場也被炸成廢墟，全球數千萬人口都在大爆炸的瞬間死亡，若是現在真的爆發核戰的話，看到的可能就會是如此可怕的末日景象。
古生物學者瓦勒：「這會是一段長期且非常可怕的災難，這會是人類史上發生的最慘烈事件。」
到時候地球上所有一切都會被核彈的強大威力給摧毀，這恐怕就是世界末日，雖然核戰聽起來像是遙不可及的幻想，但實際上只要美國和俄羅斯兩大強權爆發衝突、決定開戰的話，就可能會讓全人類走向滅亡危機。
現在全球約有1萬5000枚的核彈，當中有5000枚是已經要被卸除的，但還有約1萬枚都是掌控在各國軍方手上，美國和俄羅斯就佔了大多數。
核子資訊計畫負責人克里斯欽森：「軍方手中的一萬個核子武器當中，約有1800個設定成可以在極短時間內裝填到彈道導彈上發射的警戒狀態，這些警戒中的核子武器絕大部分都在美、俄兩國手中。」
美俄兩國所擁有的核彈威力，都比二戰時美國在廣島和長崎投下的原子彈還要強上50倍、數量也更多，當戰爭一爆發，雙方軍隊都會在最短時間內發動第一波攻擊。
核子資訊計畫負責人克里斯欽森：「在第一波攻擊中，兩國大概會對彼此發射約600至700個裝有核子彈頭的飛彈。」
這時候，兩國的行政首府都會成為首要攻擊目標。
核子資訊計畫負責人克里斯欽森：「最先被攻擊的城市會是擁有重要軍事或政治領導地位、以及統治機構的城市，華盛頓特區、莫斯科，戰爭將帶來巨大的毀滅性後果。」
俄羅斯可能直接朝白宮發射飛彈，摧毀藏在地底下的軍事指揮部。
核子資訊計畫負責人克里斯欽森：「如果是一枚50萬噸的彈頭擊中白宮，將會產生直徑一哩的火球。」
爆炸產生的千萬度高溫，會讓方圓4公里內的民眾瞬間死亡，就算是在遠處目擊一切，強光也可能會讓人失明。
拉斯昆布瑞觀測站物理學家霍威爾：「就算你離核子彈爆炸點夠遠、沒有馬上喪命，你仍可能因為爆炸產生的異常強光直接射進視網膜而失去視力。」
隨之而來的高輻射和混雜著有毒物質的蕈狀雲將飄落，毒害所有人。
拉斯昆布瑞觀測站物理學家霍威爾：「在地面爆裂後的核子輻射最為嚴重，因為那是在地面上製造爆炸，會讓所有的核子輻射物與塵土混雜在一起、然後噴發到空中。」
世界其他大城市也可能會因為核彈在高空引爆、製造出的電磁脈衝陷入一片混亂。
拉斯昆布瑞觀測站物理學家霍威爾：「如果你在高空引爆核子武器就可以製造出電磁脈衝，使地球大多數區域的電子產品失效。」
電話不通、汽車的電腦系統和飛機的操作系統可能全都失靈，想逃都逃不了，就是會因為會造成毀滅性的災難，各個擁有核武的國家都格外小心、極力避免衝突，在二戰過後也未曾動用過這類武器，但還是有人擔心戰爭爆發，把地下碉堡改裝成超豪華的避難所。
古生物學者瓦勒：「裡面存放5年份的存糧、還附有水耕法栽培系統、並可提供70人居住，儼然是個小社區，並可在此居住5年，等待核戰最糟的部分過去。」
裡面看起來就像是個小豪宅、一應俱全，還備好5年的糧食，想盡辦法活下去，但如此可怕的核武大戰要是真的開打，全球上億人口恐怕都難倖免，也將會是人類史上最慘烈的戰爭。
